Mulholland Drive (David Lynch, 2001): A Photo Essay

It is the best film of the the 2000s.  Here is my collection of stills from this magnificent film.

Ichi the Killer (Takashi Miike, 2001)

Gather the kids and sit around the 52′ 1080p for a little family viewing (I watched it on my MacBook because I was a chicken)!  Thank you filmspotters for your advice on the film.  It surely is not as bad as the above image would make it out to be.  The humor starts early and stays throughout, perhaps a device to shroud Takashi Miike’s obvious fetishtistic love for the material.  This makes Audition look like child’s play.  Miike holds the Davids (Lynch and Cronenberg) in high esteem and you can see this in the material.  The primary antagonist, Kakihara, played by Tadanobu Asano, camps it up great and turns in a surprisingly empathetic psychopath.  He is the Joe Pesci of Martin Scorcese crime lore.  Enjoyable even though future cognitive behavioral sessions are in my future!  :-/  Surprisingly good crime fare.  The techno score is a little uneven at places.
